this is something that i’m constantly debating! obviously one of the final scenes of the whole series is buffy saying that she loves spike, but spike disagrees. arguably, he’s the most perceptive character in the show so i would personally trust his judgment, especially because he knows buffy so deeply, again arguably more than any other character. the thing is that, at least by the end of season 7 (e.g. the scene where spike’s ‘holding’ her and then the speech in the kitchen that follows) i feel a deep and mutual love, yet spike denies it?
