I (44F) need help trying to find the woman who left her night gown at her boyfriend’s (44M) bed this week.
Long story short. My boyfriend and I were dating for over a year. He accused me of cheating on him a few months ago. I never have. I know people usually have this kind of reaction when they have been cheated on or they are projecting. There might be other reasons, but I’ve had this fear that he was probably cheating on me for a while. I tried to talk, get reassurance but he would constantly say similar things. So I never got the security I needed.
When I was on his house on Tuesday, I found a black night gown under his duvet. He said it was a gift for me. But it was unwrapped and didn’t have any tags. It was also inside out. When I told him I thought he was sleeping with someone he asked me if I thought he was stupid, and accused me of ruining his surprise. I couldn’t sleep that night and confronted him again in the morning. He tried to tell me again that I tuned something good into something negative and that he wouldn’t give me gifts anymore. I managed to keep the item because he was claiming he was going to throw it away.
I broke up with him tonight because he didn’t want to show me his phone after I saw him texting someone. I wouldn’t ask if I wasn’t feeling like he had broken my trust. If he didn’t have anything to hide. He could have showed me his phone just like I show him mine. Or at least, try to reassure me and don’t defensively when I try to connect justify my feelings with his actions and words.
I told him to leave. The funny thing is that he claims he had proof me cheating on him because I was able to put pieces of furniture together, while I asked him to help me with some other stuff. Like what?
Anyway. I am heartbroken because I feel I can’t trust myself anymore. But if you are in the tristate area, and left a piece of clothing behind trying to see if he was cheating. He is. If you knew and, your intention was to have him all for yourself. Good luck. I hope he doesn’t treat you the way he treated me.
