Newly Adoped husky went blind looking for advice

Hello! One month ago I adopted a almost 3 year old husky from Texas, whom I've named Hades. He was transported to Ohio. I was told he was healthy with no problems but upon arrival he had hyphema and over this past month he has gone blind. Ive brought him to the vet and er several times during this past month but it was in vain had he was offically diagnosed as permanently blind today.

He still has his eyes and we are in treatment to try and retain then for the time being. He is offically out of the cone i was told to keep him in over the last month. At this time I do not have the money to remove his eyes but I was told his pressures are lower enough it should be fine to leave them for now.

Anyway, im looking for some advice as both a new husky owner and now a owner to a blind dog. Ive previously had dogs growing up byt never just on my own. I have not had a blind animal before however I do have 3 special needs cats. They do have their claws.

I want to make sure Hades has a comfortable life while also not straining and making his eyes worse. Any advice on how best to train him around new people and dogs, at home or in general would be appreciated. I want to make sure he can still be active, run and play. He still likes to play fetch even if he cant see.

If anyone has any tech recommendations that would be beneficial to assist him would also be helpful.

Thank you!

Edit: Thank you everyone! I appreciate all the advice I've been given. Its been helpful in such an overwhelming situation. Hades first day without his cone on has been good! He seem to know his way around the house quite well already. We started new drops today and im starting vocal training with him. I have new puzzle, scent training and sound based toys on the way for him. Along with a clicker and dog whistle. Ill also be looking into some professional trainer for him. He is still in the process of learning English. (He was previously trained in Spanish.) And hes in the middle of service dog training. (This is on pause till he is more comfortable without his eyes) This sub has been very helpful and has helped provide some very high hopes he'll live a long happy life even without his eye sight.

Rescued dog was tranposted to me from Texas. He arrived injured and with a possible disorder as well as lacking full medical history. I was told he was in perfect health. Can I get the rescue to help pay for costs or sue for contract breech? If so, is it worth it?

Location: Ohio and Texas. I adopted a husky in Mid June from a foster rescue in Texas. He was transported and arrived to me July 18th. Transport was three people who drove a bus packed with dogs and cats over a period of 5 days. My dog arrived 2 days into the trip. The rescue and foster told me he was in great health he had all of his shots and was neutered on the 6th of July. He did not travel in a cone.

The problem is he arrived to me with Hyphema in one of his eyes and both eyes were and continue to be bloodshot even with treatment. The night he arrived we went to the er and later the vet. I have eye appointments scheduled. He is on medication however he is not improving and is likely to go blind due to some blood disorder or illness he had before he was transported.

I have been in contact with the adoption agent and the foster. Originally I was told he had not left with red eyes and was in perfect health. The led me to believe something happened during transport however later I found out from the adoption agent he has red eyes at his neutering on the 6th though not to the extent he arrived to me in. The vets are still concerned there was abuse or trauma on the trip along with a bleeding disorder.

The contract for the rescue states that I would receive all medical history. The only thing I got was his neutering and his shots from the 6th nothing else. It also states that as soon as he is out of their custody im responsible for all medical costs no matter the cause. I did also find out this rescue is sadly known for animal abuse and neglect especially during transport.

My question is even though the contract states im responsible for all medical costs since I was not provided proper medical history and that it seems he was not vetted properly before the trip can any legal action be taken against the rescue for his medical costs or possi le contract breech? And if so would it be worth it? Ive been trying to get him where I can but I cannot afford the sudden costs of this as I was told he was healthy with no illness or disorders. I do have insurance on him but medical costs need to be paid upfront then reimbursed later.

Note: This dog has been through a lot I have no plans to return him even If he does end up blind. I do not want him going back to a neglectful home. Contract states he can be return after a 6 week period, he has been with me almost 3 week. He was supposed to be trained to be a service dog yet if he ends up blind this will not be possible.
