Good morning! We're back with the "Tarot Picks My Perfume" series, and today we are using the Heartwood Tarot by Three Trees Tarot.

The method: I am basing my perfume picks off of the element that the card is associated with. For example: Cups=Water=perfume with notes associated with water. If I have multiple perfumes in that category, I will use the emotional tone and the imagery of the card to narrow it down. Occasionally I'll throw in the numerology too.

A slightly ironic pull, as I feel like I'm lacking the creativity to connect the dots this morning. 😅 The Page of Wands is typically on the verge of a new creative venture, and so I started thinking in that vein. I forgot to focus on the deck I'm actually using though: I thought back to the RWS imagery. Here, we see a deer who is still new to the world, taking joy in what is in front of him. What else is there, in addition to butterflies gathering to greet the young one? The guidebook for this deck says "explore what calls to you... and embrace the excitement of what's to come." The TL:DR is that I overcomplicated the card. Creativity cannot be forced, but perhaps it can be found.

I'm going with Lorelei Parfums Vanille Blanche today.

It is a warm and gentle vanilla, and it seems like a good opening to the day. Lorelei Parfums is defunct now, but I've heard there are several dupes! I think u/cujocanari knows one from NAVA, but I forgot what it was, haha.

I am so excited about the samples I received (several I've wanted to try for a while!). I can already tell the Solstice Scents **Violet Mallow** is beautiful. I haven't tested any of them besides Violet Mallow, because I came down with a cold this week, but I'm am stoked for when my sense of smell returns.

They also sent me some tea from Portal Tea Company, and some cat-themed goodies! The cat hair clip is precious.

Let me tell you how much I love getting this card. I am tired all the time, and when my deck tells me to take a nap, who am I to argue? Lol.

This card follows the Three of Swords (heartbreak), so this rest is meant to be a needed respite from sorrow and pain. As a teen, my anxieties would become more severe in the night: I would agonize over whether or not I was doing "enough" to fix my internal problems. My mother told me, "Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is sleep." Words to live by.

So I'm looking for an air note, and a purposely restful scent. I'm going to pick a new one (for me), Starlings at Dusk by Birch & Besom.

This one is a unique one in my collection. It has this gentle pink candy vibe that is made striking by the peppercorn and ozone. Wouldn't you know it, we do indeed have starlings that dance and settle down during sundown in the trees near our house. I love watching them, and the pink vibe of the fragrance captures the soft warm pink of late sunset well.
