I'm currently a fiber/copper install tech for an ISP. I'm paid decently enough about $35/hr or $73,000 with my current schedule. The job ain't bad but I've sort of grown bored/uninterested in the telecom field and doesn't look to be much room for growth
I would really like to move into being an electrician or lineman of the sorts but unsure if that's the move or how to go about it.
My fear is taking an initial pay cut and how long it would take before I get close to or more than my current pay. Is this something I can even learn simultaneously while working my current job? I'm in Texas. Any help would be appreciated!
