Where RPM do you find your self at just cruising

I come from torque heavy big cruisers so I'm adjusting to my MT-03 revver. I find myself cruising usually around 50 mph and seem to like 5th gear best. That is still rather low on the tach numerically but I have no experience as to what is optimal for a sportier 321cc bike.

Where does everyone like the revs to sit to balance the need, or want, for a quick acceleration and lively ride?

Yamaha Motor On App

Anyone have success with the Yamaha Motor On app? I realize there are many other apps that are probably stronger but wanted to give this one a try that seems to be endorsed by Yamaha and designed to start and stop automatically. I only get some of my trips. For example today I went for a ride that required a gas stop. The app recorded from my house to the gas stop but then did not pick up the second half of my trip. That trip was a lunch run and the app picked up the straight ride home fine.

I made sure the app and bluetooth was running on the phone as evidenced by the app indicators on the bike's dashboard.

Any good experiences for bad?

I keep sliding down the seat into the tank

Hello. New to the sport bike format with my MT-03. Any suggestions on how to keep from sliding up to the tank and pressuring my external organs? I'm not new to riding but I am new to sport bikes. I tried squeezing my knees to the tank but not disciplined enough yet to keep the pressure on. I'm done after about 50 miles. Any tips? Thanks

Yet Another Ice Storm

Not much to add except another Ice Storm 2025 MT-03 added to the group here. I picked it up new this week. Yes, paid way too much at the stealership but I love the bike after selling my heavy bikes I look forward to spending time on a <400 pounder for awhile.

The only thing I have added is the engine guards but plan to do a little more as I learn. Likely a fairing and do something with tail tidying.

Thanks for all the input here on what has worked and what hasn't.

Now just trying to stay under 7K on the tach for 1000 miles.
