Will my girl stay small?

Pic for reference! Mabel is 7 months and about 45 lbs and is pretty short. I am sure she still has growing to do and will fill out a bit more but I’m curious if she’ll end up staying on the petite side. I was definitely expecting her to be a bit bigger at this age but definitely won’t be upset if she stays small!

Which seating option is better for Paranormal Activity (August Wilson Theater)?

Ticket prices are about the same for the two sections I’ve highlighted between the orchestra and mezzanine. I’ve heard this show has a lot of sight line so I am wondering where I would likely have a better view to see all of the show? The orchestra seats look to be at the very end of the overhang so I don’t think the view would be obscured from that. Thank you!

Is it fine to move pets to a new insurance plan if they don’t have major preexisting conditions?

I have 2 cats and just got a puppy and am looking at MetLife insurance plans for the puppy. Both of my cats are 8 years old and have been on HealthyPaws for most of their lives. Neither have had any major injuries, illnesses etc. but they did both get dental work done when they were younger and both had to get teeth pulled. I believe one of them was noted to have early signs of gum disease but nothing else. I am looking to move them over to the MetLife plan as rates have gone up at MetLife offers a family plan for up to 3 pets with a shared deductible between them all.

Would I be making a mistake moving the cats off of the existing plan?

Golden just turned 4 months - so much barking!

My pup just turned 4 months, so we’ve had her for just over 2 months at this point. She’s been awesome. Great personality, super sweet and friendly, very smart and eager to learn, and of course adorable. The first 2 months she didn’t really bark much aside from wanting to get out of her crate once she’s done sleeping. The last week she’s barking A LOT. She’ll bark after 30 minutes in her crate, she’ll bark when she’s left alone in her pen, she’ll bark if she’s in her crate and can sense that I left the room (even with all of the flaps down on her crate cover and if she’s been asleep for an hour she still senses it almost immediately and starts barking).

I assumed it was because teething has begun, she’s been full land shark mode for weeks now, so I keep a (big sized so that she can’t choke on it while unattended) bone in her crate with her, but I’m thinking it’s just growing pains. It also feels like she is quickly developing separation anxiety since she freaks out whenever I leave the room. I work from home in a small apartment so her crate is right next to my desk, and she’ll bark endlessly when I leave the room. Same thing with being in the pen - first two months she would settle pretty quickly if we left her in the crate and left the room, but now she’s getting much louder and doesn’t stop barking until we either return or once a lot of time has passed (like 30 minutes - I’m in an apartment so would like to avoid the excessive barking as much as I can).

Any tips here or things I might be missing as a first time puppy parent? Is she just growing and being vocal about it?

Puppy tax attached of the suspect in question.

She has been such a sweet puppy and has had a really good first few days at home. She took to her crate very easily and even went in by herself for a nap. She slept from 10:30 PM-6 AM last night!

I just picked up my new puppy this weekend at 8 weeks and want to get her an insurance plan and am looking for recommendations. She has her first vet appointment on Thursday and I am unsure if I should get the policy before then, and if I should maybe consider pushing the appointment back until after the first waiting period (seems like it’s about 2 week for most as far as I can tell)? She was all checked out by our breeders vet but of course we are taking her to our own for her initial check up. I’m not sure if it would be bad to wait 2 more weeks (AKA age 10 weeks for her) for the first check up.

Thank you!

Picked up my new puppy Mabel today. She slept for most of her 6 hour car ride home and is asleep in her crate now. Let’s see how long she makes it through the night 😅

I’m bringing home my 8 week old golden retriever puppy this weekend, and I have 2 adult cats (both 8 years old) and am a bit antsy on how their meeting will go. One of my cats is very outgoing and friendly, loves to meet people and is very curious and social, and my other is more reserved and usually keep to herself around people. Both of them have met and spent time with dogs and we’re mostly fine (we did Rover pet sitting and they usually settled in pretty quickly) but of course I really want their relationship with the puppy to go well.

The puppy will be kept in a separate room and we’ll be crate training and keeping her within her pen and we have a baby gate with a cat door so they can come and go as they please. I’m planning on keeping them apart at the start and will do some scent swapping, feeding meals across the door and giving lots of treats to all of them. Most of the apartment will be just for the cats for the first while and we’ll have their food, water, litter boxes, sleep areas etc. set up for them in other rooms.

Would appreciate any other advice!

I’m picking up my puppy this weekend and am still a bit conflicted on how to go about potty training. I live in an apartment in a city and unfortunately don’t have a yard or a patio/balcony so it’s complicating my options a bit. I asked my vet on their opinion between using pee pads until she has been fully vaccinated or allowing her to go outside and they didn’t seem to think taking her outside would be an issue as long as I am careful, but almost everything I’ve seen online said that she shouldn’t be going outside at all. I’m especially nervous since it’s a fairly busy area and lots of other dogs as well.

Much of what I’ve see also said NOT to use pee pads as it will set the expectation that going in the house is ok. I ordered grass pee pads from Chewy, so I am thinking that might be a good in between point for the time being, but still a bit unsure. Should I maybe bring the grass pad outside and have her use it there instead?

Would great appreciate any thoughts!

I’ll be picking up my first ever puppy, an 8 week old golden retriever this weekend. I WFH full time and my wife is hybrid and is home 2 days a week. I’m looking for any advice for others who WFH and how to balance the responsibility of looking after a pup while also being able to get your work done.
