Small win for the day: Actually executed my study plan without folding.

Decided to give today my full focus and set aside a 4-hour block strictly for upskilling.

I started right at 3:00 PM and ran a strict 50/10 structure—50 minutes of deep work, 10 minutes to step away. Here is how the blocks broke down:

Block 1: Python Fundamentals

Block 2: Power BI (DAX)

Block 3: Python Fundamentals

Block 4: Python Fundamentals

Python has been my main focus. I’ve been on the basics for three weeks now, and I wanted to make sure my logic was solid before jumping into Pandas. To test myself, I had AI generate practice problems so I couldn't just coast on theory.

Following through on the exact plan without folding feels incredible. The best part? Work ikishakua done, saahi ni kutoka out ku-socialize na ku-unwind na zero guilt hanging over my head. Form ni kujibamba after putting in the work.

For anyone else grinding on the side. keep pushing. How’s the upskilling journey going on your end?

Thinking of giving church another shot

Hey everyone,

I’m looking for some recommendations. The last time I consistently stepped foot in a church was back in 2019/2020. Lately, I’ve been feeling the urge to get back into it.

For me, it's mostly about growing spiritually, but I also really want to find a solid community of like-minded people. I’m currently living along Naivasha Road / Kawangware, so I’m looking for something around this side or within an easy commute.

Ideally, I’m looking for a place with a vibrant youth presence where I can actually get involved in church activities and plug into a community, rather than just sitting in the back row and leaving immediately after the benediction.

Plot twist: It doesn’t strictly have to be a conventional Sunday church setup! As long as it’s a group or community that comes together, fellowships, and does positive things in the name of God, I’m completely open to it.

Does anyone know a good spot, youth service, or fellowship group around here that fits the vibe? Drop your plugs below, I'd really appreciate it!

Thanks in advance!

The Adult dilemma:New mama fua or a washing machine

I’m facing a real adulting dilemma. Since I started out on my own back in 2023, I’ve had the absolute best Mama Fua. Her work is flawless, she cleans exceptionally well, and in three years, we’ve never had a single misunderstanding. She’s been an absolute gem.

Last week, she gave me the news: she’s finally about to launch her own business! I am genuinely so happy and proud of her for making this big step.

But selfishly... I’m panicking a little. The thought of letting a stranger into my space and trying to build that level of trust all over again feels exhausting. Instead of hunting for a new Mama Fua, I’m seriously considering just biting the bullet and buying a washing machine.

What do you guys think? Is it worth risking the "Mama Fua lottery" again to find someone trustworthy, or should I just automate my life and invest in a washing machine? Would love to hear your experiences with making the switch

What are you building when no one is watching?

Today, I made a promise I would study 4 hours nonstop. I am happy I committed and I have just finished my 4-hour study. This is the structure I used:

Starting time 3:30pm

Finished 7:36pm

Two subjects: ESG reporting and Power BI data modelling and DAX

Procedure: the two subjects, 50min of focus on one then 10 minutes break then 50min of focus on the other then 10 minutes. This was the cycle I was using.

Started with ESG reporting then after break, power bi data modelling then went back to ESG then power bi DAX.

Review: honestly, ESG reporting humbled me today, frameworks are dense and a lot of terminology overlaps in ways that feel designed to confuse.

Power bi DAX and data modelling is more comfortable since I occasionally work with it on my job.

I am not posting because I did anything extraordinary but to celebrate small wins and motivate someone who also wants to study for an extended period.

I want to take a 2 hour break (take supper and finish up on invincible season 4) then spend another one and half hour on data cleaning and exploration with SQL.
