Blakiston’s Fish Owl by Katsuta Kyohei

Folded from 25cm tant, which was way too thick. I had to fudge some details in the head, legs, and tail.

As an aside, anyone have any ideas for what to use as a stand? The current one is a toothpick and eraser, but I don’t have that many dead erasers left.

Cats by Katsuta Kyohei

My Origami-shop order arrived today. The first one is made from 10cm tissue foil (free sample) and the second one from 15cm duo thai paper. Big thanks to South Africa for the single rand.

Tissue foil was excellent to work with, and I’ll probably be buying some in the future. Duo thai was a bit disappointing, though. It was thicker than tant and the two sheets were kinda falling apart.

Savanna Themed, but the Elephant Is Asian So It’s Not Actually Savanna Themed

Lion and Asiatic Elephant by Satoshi Kamiya

I bought a pack of 25cm tant recently and decided to try some models that glassine and tracing paper aren’t good for. I thought the lion was going to turn out super ugly because the paper was getting too thick and a bit crumpled on/near the head, but I feel like the result looks okay modulo the front legs. The elephant looks kinda elephant, and I think I copied the head shaping from another reddit post.
