Burned Out Mental Healthcare Worker

I’m 25F and have been working in behavioral healthcare since 2023. I’ve worked at a handful of ABA companies, a pre-school, and more recently an inpatient behavioral healthcare facility. All of these jobs involved me working directly with kids from ages 2-17 years old, and I’m extremely burned out from it. The most recent job has been affecting me a lot mentally, so I’m looking to move away from healthcare & childcare as a whole. I’m in a bit of a tough spot though, because majority of my work experience is in those fields.

I have some brief experiences working at chain fast food restaurants, coffee shops, and doing front desk administrative work while I was in college. I do believe I have a lot of transferable skills that would translate well into an administrative or hospitality role. I’m also in school to pursue a career in wellness, but I can’t work in the role I want to until I gain licensure.

Are there any industries or jobs that would be a fit for someone that has the experience I do? I’ve been looking into the following:

• Hospitality
• Administration
• Wellness
• Service Industry
• Community/Non-profit organizations

It would just need to be for the next 6 months at least while I finish school & pay enough to cover my essentials in life (Ideally $22+).

WIBTA if I didn’t hang out hang out with a friend at concert we’re both attending?

I (25F) planned a date last week with the guy I’ve been dating to go to a concert this Thursday. He’s been out of town for a work conference, so I haven’t seen him in about two weeks, and want to spend some time with him. Today my friend (23NB) called me and asked if I wanted to go to the same concert with them and one other friend as an early birthday celebration for themself. For context, their birthday is this weekend, but me and their other friend aren’t able to attend their birthday plans because of work.

I told them that I already have plans to go to that show, but I’m going there on a date. They jokingly made a comment about me being male centered that kind of annoyed me, because I hardly talk about this relationship with them unless there’s something big going on. I’ve also been dating this guy since November, so it’s not like some random guy I just started seeing. They also made a comment like, “Oh, you just weren’t going to tell anybody”, (referring to our larger friend group), but I was like yes??? I wasn’t telling anyone, because I’m going there on a date! I don’t typically invite my friends to tag along on my date nights. It’s also important to note that my friend has not met the guy I’m dating yet, and I wanted to have a more intentional meeting whenever that does happen.

I could tell they were a bit bothered by me planning to go and not telling our friend group, and they asked how I’d feel if they still went with their friend. I told them I didn’t have any issue with it and would be down to hang out there, but I don’t want to feel obligated to going with/hanging out with them the whole time. Like I’d be going with the intention of being on a date and focusing my attention on the guy I’m with, but if my friend went, they’d be going with the intention of celebrating their birthday, and I feel like the focus would be on them or that I would be in the wrong if I didn’t focus my intention on them. I kind of feel like my date night plans are being crashed, and that I’d be the asshole if I didn’t want to spend the whole night hanging with my friend rather than spending time with my date.
