My husband is solo hiking the long trail and started Northbound on 6/29. We last spoke about 22 hrs ago where he was at Goddard Shelter, heading to Kid Gore. Before he left for his hike, he said to call if I don’t hear from him within a 24 hour period. The State Police officer closes in two hours and I am in another state. Worried spouse, or is it time to call? No pings from his phone on FindMy either.

EDIT: He just called, he’s had to descend for a possible medical problem and is being seen by a doctor. Thank you all for the quick reassurance and answers!

I know that I'm announcing my departure from the proverbial airport, but I want to thank each and every one of you for your support, patience, and encouragement. I'm down 30 lbs. since the beginning of March and it's made a huge difference in my health, my self image, and my self-esteem. About a month and a half back, I started experiencing anhedonia. It wasn't too severe at first, just a flatter affect than usual. It soon spiraled into just a complete inability to feel joy or any real emotion on anything more than a surface level. My work suffered, my marriage suffered, and my state of mind was rapidly becoming a safety risk. At this time I'm titrating down and stopping completely while working with a dietician to minimize weight re-gain after cessation.

I'm not saying this to crap on the medication AT ALL but to raise awareness of the fact that this medication effects everyone differently and to be on guard for any side effects that are making life worse for you, rather than better. I hope that research will continue and that we will be able to better mitigate these kinds of side effects in the future.

EDIT: holy shit I didn’t expect this to blow up as much as it did! Thank you for the awards 🙈 and for all your kindness. I’m of course not happy to hear that others have experienced this but you all made me feel less alone. Keep up the positivity with each other, this is such a great community!

I’ve been admitted to a Masters program at Reykjavik University. My husband and I have previously lived in Iceland and have a kennitala. I’ve been told that spousal reunification visas are taking up to a year. Is that true?
