Rolling duffel- clamshell or traditional?

Hi all! New here- very much a maximalist/overpacker in the past ... I have 3 trips coming up , very similar in needs of clothing. British Columbia (max 25 lb limit- resort stay), Yellowstone (not camping) & Sun Vally, ID (resort stay) .
My only bag right now is a large hardshell so looking at lightweight medium size rolling duffels.
Trying to decide between a clamshell or traditional design and would love some opinions and feedback. Leaning towards clamshell bc it seems more like what I have and am used to but wondering if the traditional would be roomier.
Thanks!
