The Core of AR4507 is Getting Busy!
Possibilities of eruptive M Flare rise.
Gorgeous flux ropes rising within this active region.
Aug. 15th 24hr View of AR4407 & 4406.
Sunspots have been growing today. Lots of plasma surging here and there. Many messy little geyser flares out the front of 4407.
Viewing in SDO AIA 171Å.
Twinkle, twinkle, little Star.
How I wonder, what you are.
August 5th Double CME on the Limb
You know that kid who gets really excited about trains? Yeah, that's me, but with solar plasma.
Seeing this double eruption made for a very exciting day on our Star.
Please enjoy this view from the SDO AIA instrument, and many thanks to the support team!
Hedgerow Prominence Eruption
This filament erupted soon after the M flare.
Watching it from GOES 19 SUVI 304Å as it shows plasma in the corona much better than SDO AIA 304Å.
July 30th M Class Solar Flare and CME
A filament running thru 4492 could hold on no longer and erupted in a gorgeous twisting coronal mass ejection with post flare arcades and a little supra arcade downflow.
July 7th Solar Prominence Eruption
This gloriously dynamic hedgerow prominence obtained liftoff from the solar photosphere yesterday. I've been watching it all day!
Viewing from the GOES 19 satellite first then a close up with SDO AIA while listening to a song I made called "Gunpowder Generosity" about 11 years ago during the decline of SC24.
June 28th Solar Prominence Eruption from GOES and SDO
Created a second eruption video today focused on the SE prominence eruption rotated 'upright. Also including the close up SDO AIA imagery in a 171Å/304Å overlay capture and a new soundtrack, "Mirror Moon."
June 28th Double Solar Prominence Eruption
Very eruptive day for dense plasma clouds floating in the corona.
GOES-19 providing the view. It is a little better at imaging prominence off the solar disk.
June 25th SW Prominence Eruption
I rotated this capture 90° for better viewing.
Eruptions should go UP!
X-Ray Flux Hype.
Developing regions on the EFD, with incoming AR on the limb. This should make for in interesting week!
June 16-17 Twenty-Four Hours of Non-Stop Solar Geyser Flares
These geyser flares are not always the most energetic variety of flaring, thou we have seen X class geysers before. It is still awesome to watch all that solar plasma being blasted up into the corona!
First capture is from SDO AIA. Second is GOES SUVI.
2024 October 3rd X9 Solar Flare
Both the SDO and IRIS satellites were watching 3842 at just the right time when a strong X9 Flare occured.
June 15th Prominence Eruption
Prominence on the limb are best viewed with GOES-19 SUVI in 304Å. This one was particularly elegant.
June 6th M1 Solar Flare and Partial Halo CME
Another glancing blow on the way.
We should catch the edge of that flux rope, but most of the material went east.
June 3rd X Class Solar Flare and Asymmetrical Halo CME
Many thanks to the #SDO #AIA team for providing such a view of our Star.
Coronagraph has a difference overlay and is repeated 4x.
