Shifted to net billing unfairly? Can anything be done?

Salam,

My friend installed an on grid solar system on his home last year in August, and successfully got a net metering contract (ie, he has the paper document for net metering that describes his system, the net metered connection, and the duration of the contract). Furthermore, his bill clearly states "Your net metering license expiry date is 13/08/2032".

This was all before the net billing thing was even mentioned. Unfortunately, his MCO got delayed internally in IESCO (which I know happens sometimes). As far as we understand things, when the government tried to introduce net billing, they froze processing of all documents for a while. So, his MCO was stuck. Despite having an AMI meter, the bill only showed a single reading.

He complained to IESCO a few times, directly, as well as through his solar installer. Eventually the MCO went through roughly a couple of weeks ago. They've adjusted the bill based on the export of units over the last year (his connection is 1 year old), but it seems to be on the basis of net billing, since he received roughly Rs. 8.xx for each exported unit.

The problem is that his bill under "Category" says net billing, and at the same time, lower down, mentions "Your net metering license expiry date is 13/08/2032". He also has the official contract for net metering. What should he do now? Is there any chance to get this fixed to a net metered connection?

Thank you!

You can see under \"Category\" it says Net billing. This has appeared for the first time this month

Here it says you have a net meter license. This has appeared for several months, ever since the bill format got changed

Confused about adjusted solar bill

Salam,

My friend had a 10kw on grid solar system installed with a net metering contract issued in August last year. He received his net metering contract back then. His bill mentions "Your net meter license expiry date is 31/08/2032".

Unfortunately, his file got frozen when the net metering to net billing shift was implemented, so the MCO didn't go through until just now (I think there were a few dozen similar cases, because the IESCO guy mentioned all those files being "forwarded" for processing).

IESCO has tried to adjust the backlog of his exported/imported units, but I don't understand the calculations. Furthermore, they've shown a highly increased electricity bill this month (78,976), when my friends bill, historically, has never been >35,000. It seems to me these are just random calculations/numbers to wipe out the balance history, which, I would like to stress, is NOT a problem.

The main issue is that I want to confirm that the bill is now functioning on a net metering basis, and not net billing. Due to the seemingly random/incorrect numbers and calculations, I'm confused about this. Thank you!

Redmi Pad 2 vs Infinix Xpad 1101B

Hi,

I'm considering purchasing one of these tablets (I already have a laptop) for media consumption (youtube, movies, netflix etc), video calls, and reading documents (word, large pdfs and powerpoints up to 1000 slides, or around 300mb due to many graphics etc). I was considering the infinix xpad 1101b, because its significantly cheaper, but Im wondering if the hardware is strong enough to do what I want to do.

Thank you!
