16kg 3’ snatch rerun - 106 reps this time

Had to rerun the challenge to try to keep up with the awesome pace set by /u/choran4

It’s really tough to cycle hand to hand snatches this fast, definitely some sloppy reps in here! Still had a great time though

16kg 3’ Snatch - 99 reps

Had to give it a shot since /u/Few_Abbreviations_50 called me out. Who’s going next to try to push us over 100?

Double 32kg Long Cycle Sprints

I’m not much of a sport guy, but I still appreciate mixing in long cycle work every once in a while. Usually short sprints with copious rest. The work adds up quick!

2x36kg Incline Bench

Inspired by watching /u/celestial_sour_cream do these a few weeks ago.

Loaded Dead Hangs

Inspired by this recent post.

I’m a big fan of loaded dead hangs. Usually I shoot for 30”-60” with a load that makes that fairly difficult. There’s a lot of variety with a mixture of regular/fat bar, bilateral/unilateral, with/without chalk, and different load positions.

Most of us don’t have the monster bell selection like /u/Tomdegiuli96 but we can make do with multiple bells. Tonight’s work is 56+48 for sets of 30”.

48kg 1 minute jerk test - 16 reps

Haven’t been doing many jerks recently, figured I’d run a quick test to see how they’re holding up. They definitely get ugly by the end!

Snatching, Fast and Slow

Inspired by this recent post.

The question sounded odd to me, but also sparked my curiosity. What would a slow snatch feel like? Surprisingly difficult!

Working with 16kg here.

32kg Hotel Pentaplex Work

It’s always nice to find time for training when I’m on the road. Pentaplex (pentathlon movements as a complex) is one of my favorite ways to sneak in some quick work.

Dip Mesocycle Progress +48kg to +68kg

Just wrapped up a short dip mesoscycle, progressed 1RM from +48kg to +68kg and 21RM from bodyweight to +16kg. Using my Daily Effort Protocol, running the AMRAP Dual Max Method. 1RM progress shown here. Definitely room to clean this up, but I’m still happy with the progress!

18kg 4x4’ at 25rpm

Really enjoying this structure. 3’ rest between rounds trimmed out of the video.

Hotel bell 4x4

Definitely the worst hotel bell I’ve had the opportunity to use so far. 4 rounds of 4’ on:3’ off, 16kg@25rpm. Inspired by the Norwegian 4x4, but not quite true to the structure.

Armor Piercing Complex, alternating styles every round

I’m not a “hardstyle” or “sport style” guy, but I do find both interesting. Today I tried to alternate styles each round of APC work. Hardstyle with the more upright body and active rack, and sport style with more compressed body and passive rack. I’m really not good at either one of these, but still enjoyed it!

1’ on:1’ off, 10 rounds at 18rpm (pace courtesy of a digital metronome). First and last round shown.

Just working with a pin vise and lapping film. Trying to get a good picture is just as hard as trying to keep things square while polishing by hand (I failed in both regards). You can see a bit of rounding on the edge in the first picture, and the double reflection of the ring light in the second/third picture demonstrates rounding as well.
