Made my first soup. I'm sold!

Got my ORB yesterday. Did a brew using the instructions and it was alright, I think I went a bit too fine on the grind maybe as it was bitter.

Today I decided to try making soup. I used Brian Quan's ratio of 20g coffee to 100g water. I used an aeropress filter on the bottom, it's a touch too big, might be something to look into. And then a metal aeropress filter on top to complete the sandwich (I'll try a paper as well to see if there is a difference).

I decided to use some beans by Klover in Paris that came free with my K Ultra grinder, but they just hadn't worked for me with a V60. My word did this change things! The concentrate was bright and fruity, and even after dilution it was a lovely cup.

Between this and my V60 I feel set.

Pour over recipe database/community?

Hi all, I am wondering if there is a database or community that is dedicated to sharing pour over recipes?

I know people can ask on here, but I mean somewhere that I can search for specific beans or processes and see immediately access the recipes people have used.

Opus motor just went bang

I'm in mourning. My Opus has been working like a dream for a year (367 days to be precise) and today when I put my lovely Conscious coffee beans in to grind for my start-of-the-weekend coffee it made an almighty bang! I could smell smoke.

It sounds very similar to this post from a year ago. The last few days it has been clogging a bit despite being cleaned out. Retention has been getting worse over the last couple of months as well.

I've reached out to the company (Pact Coffee) that I bought it from here in the UK and hopefully something will get sorted. It did make me sad to have to use my Hario hand grinder again.
