CSE6040 as only course & limited python experience?

Hello! I know it’s been mentioned many times that we should be somewhat proficient in coding before doing CSE6040.

Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to take out time for it due to other commitments. That said, I will still be a full time student for the following semester. I intend to do only one module — CSE6040.

I have close to 0 experience with python, SQL except for some basic knowledge gained via a bootcamp years ago.

Would like to hear from people who have done it with similarly close to 0 experience with python — any advice?

Is it possible to do CSE6040 while learning python on the go?

I failed my driving test thrice

First test — admittedly I wasn’t as prepared for parking as I should have been

Went for more lessons, got cleared for taking the test.

Second test — Had road violations, gave way to the side road when I’m on the main road. Didn’t help that a new instructor was making lots of sarcastic comments at me in the 1h class before that& insulted my country before the test.

I practiced really hard for the third test.

Third test — Failed for not doing a full stop at red light before the discretionary right turn. The road in front of me was clear, there were no cars at all. Didn’t even complete the route.

I don’t want to take the test anymore. I feel like a failure at everything. I got retrenched, I am struggling at my exams, and I can’t even pass this driving test.

I’m tired.

ISYE6414 Regression + MGT8823 (DACI) Or MGT6311 (Digital Marketing) for Summer?

Coming in with minimal R background (did do ISYE6501 already if it counts) and 0 Python background.

I’m travelling quite a bit for a few weeks towards the end of summer and would love to take things a little more chill (i.e., as minimal exams as possible). Doing this program full time.

I will definitely be doing regression this summer. Looking to pair it with another chill but useful MGT module.

I heard MGT8823 Data Analysis for Continuous Improvement is very useful for careers but I’m worried about the workload especially if I’m travelling.

I am also considering digital marketing because apparently you can likely front load all the studying to the front of summer which I do like but I’m not sure how useful it is in general.

I have not taken CSE6040 but planning to do in Fall and would like to keep some time to prepare for it.

Would you recommend pairing MGT8823 or Digital Marketing with Regression? (If you want to keep your sanity & enjoyment while travelling for a few weeks, AND save time to prepare for CSE6040)

Huge thank you to everyone who gave tips and advice!

Managed to get an improvement in my score. Reflected on my past MT2 mistakes and realised one of the problems was me doing it while I was very mentally and emotionally burnt out. Took some time out to just do my own things with lesser stress

Scored a 77% but I’m happy with it. Was so worried and anxious about it. The finals was quite tricky though so 77% was a rather pleasant surprise for myself.

Now I’m sitting at 77% overall too, what’s the likelihood of it being curved to a B?
