How to record loud vocals w/o clipping on Scarlett Studio 212?

RECORDING EXAMPLE

I am a musical theater singer and so far when I have tried to record a song with my "loud" vocals, the gain is clipped and goes into the red zone. I have tried to lower the gain on the mic, but this just makes the entire track more quiet and doesn't really improve the quality of the sound. If I hold the mic further away, as seen at about 10 seconds, the sound also just gets quiet/seems distant and does not improve its quality.

I record in Ableton and I use the Scarlett Studio 212 mic if that helps somehow. I would like to just keep my set-up casual and not drop all of my money on fancy gear and pop-filters. There has to be a way to adjust the recording on a technical level. Can anyone tell me if there's more settings I should be looking into on Ableton/Scarlett Studio?

How to maintain curved hand when doing arpeggios on 5ths?

I’m trying to practice arpeggios on 5ths (Bb-F-Bb, Ab-Eb-Ab etc) but I keep hitting bum notes because my hand is collapsing. The tempo in the video below is about 80% close to how fast I want the arpeggios to be at. How can I stretch to hit the next note while still maintaining a strict curved position? You have to flatten your hand to some degree to reach octaves but I know I’m not doing it right.

Progress hindered by digital keyboard

I am a level 3-4 player struggling to gauge my real piano level because of a difference playing on acoustic vs digital instruments. When I practice my repertoire at home, I do fine because the keys are light and I can do scales relatively easy. But when I try to play on my teacher’s baby grand, I completely lose my power and control over the keys and play everything too loud because I am not used to pressing down so hard. This is extremely frustrating and I don’t know what to do because I’m basically not practicing “for real” with my dinky digital keyboard at home.

I’ve tried playing on a weighted MIDI keyboard, but that still makes no difference compared to a real baby grand. My teacher tries to tell me to practice dropping my hands down onto the keyboard but again, I can’t exactly practice at home when there’s no real weight against me. Can anyone offer some advice as to what I should do?
