Driver Monitor will not disable
I have covered the driver monitor camera with tape. I do not want to see any warnings from it at all. I want to pretend it doesn't exist while I drive to work wearing my tinfoil hat.
I have read pages 257 through 259 in the manual, and I have disabled the settings in the infotainment called out on page 615.
For short drives everything is fine. For any drive over 30 minutes I get a continual warning on the speedometer display saying "driver monitor unavailable".
If I clear the warning (back button on steering wheel) it just comes back up a few seconds later.
as far as I can find there are no additional menus/settings in the speedometer itself as found on past models, it is all in the infotainment menus mentioned in the manual.
Any ideas on what I am missing or how I can get it to leave me alone?
