MAG Euros preview, plus results from Rhythmic Worlds and WAG Euros
Well, that was certainly a weekend of a lot of gymnastics. Congrats to all who made it out well-rested.
MAG Euros is coming soon to a screen near you! Check out this preview of all AA scores for MAGs who will be there, and visit the master post of all the information we’ve got, including links for exorbitantly expensive streaming, scoring, draws, and start lists.
I would also highly recommend watching this preview from Donnell Whittenburg. Our guy put together some solid analysis and also talked to Manrique Larduet! Larduet, who formerly competed for Cuba, is now the two-time all-around champion of Italy but told Whittenburg that he’s still waiting for Italian citizenship. He’s hoping to have that passport in hand by the end of the year so he can compete for Italy in 2027.
If you’ve ever been interested in checking out rhythmic, I’d highly recommend this year’s World Championships, which just concluded. It was an incredibly good competition. Brazil’s group won the world titles in both apparatus finals, which were the first and second Worlds gold medals ever won by the Americas in the history of rhythmic. Darja Varfolomeev won her third World AA title, meaning she has won the AA four years straight (including the Paris Olympics).
With the conclusion of WAG Euros, we have all the women’s qualifiers in place for the World Championships. You can find an unofficial list here along with named teams for the few countries who have already selected. Men’s qualifiers will be set this weekend with MAG Euros.
