[27/F] Seeking Long-Term International Penpals
Hi all,
I'm in my late 20's and from the United States, and I'm interested in finding international penpals to connect with, as I'm someone who enjoys learning about other cultures and getting to know people from around the world. I've chosen to seek out penpals as a way to unplug from social media and spend time intentionally slowing down.
What am I looking for in a penpal? I'm seeking someone who feels best in a low-pressure social environment and who would enjoy connecting with another introverted, low-key individual like myself. I would need to find a penpal who is comfortable allowing some time to pass (within reason, of course - a week, two weeks, etc.) between us without feeling the need to rush our new friendship and connection. I'm seeking penpals who I can be unserious with, joke and share a laugh with while conversely, we can also have in-depth conversation that feels organic and not rushed. I am not looking for surface level busy-messaging, but I am seeking a deeper exchange that is thoughtful and rewarding for both of us.
I'd love the opportunity to reflect with others on the small, joyful moments in our daily lives that often seem insignificant. Exchanging music, books, and film recommendations are all exciting for me too, as these are my biggest interests. Sharing recipes and stickers is also great!
Some of my hobbies include reading, writing, and taking long walks outside in nature. I just finished reading the Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, and now I'm reading the Bell Jar for the first time. Another favorite book I read this year was When My Heart Joins the Thousand, along with Act Your Age, Eve Brown. I love listening to chill rap and R&B, acoustic music, and indie, but my music taste has a wide range, and I'd love to know what music you enjoy, too.
If you're interested in connecting, please message me. I'd like to progress from Reddit messaging to Snail Mail. I know there are some cool penpals out there! I can't wait to get to know you.
