Air Compressor cut-in issue

I was given a faulty air compressor from a friend as a tool to try and fix to keep if I can get it running. It’s more or less brand new from what was explained to me. it will run up to about 95psi and then sound like it slows down / struggles, but will reach 120psi and cut out. The issue is when you use the tool, it does not automatically start back up once the pressure drops. If it runs down below about half way I can flip the switch off / on and it will run again, but it won’t turn back on if it’s a higher psi. Basically it works as long as you just fill and drain and then manually turn it back on to refill once the tank is empty.

Any ideas what I can do?

Just finished off my first big project. Took way longer than anticipated and definitely more expensive than IKEA but really enjoyed the process and pretty happy with the results. Main gripes I have are the recommendation from the YouTube video I was watching to round off the door corners while sanding (wish I kept them at a sharp 90) and I think I laid out my hinges poorly on the far left. The top corner of the door doesn’t sit flush against the frame. All in all though I learned lots and had fun doing it !
