Aritzia and Coach are coming to University Park Village

This permit registered on May 12th finally confirms Aritzia will be coming to University Park Village. Jennifer Wong, the CEO of Aritzia, confirmed a Fort Worth location would be coming back on May 7th, but didn't mention a location at the time.

Aritzia will locate in suite 305, the unit Pottery Barn is vacating. Jennifer Wong also said that the company hopes to open the Fort Worth location by the end of their fiscal year, which would be March 2027, although delays are definitely possible.

Pottery Barn at University Park Village will close on June 7th, and they will reopen at Westbend on June 19th.

Additionally, Coach is also coming; they will locate in the vacant space between FP Movement and White House Black Market.

Aritzia, the popular Canadian women’s fashion retailer, to open boutique in Fort Worth

Aritzia’s CEO Jennifer Wong confirmed Fort Worth as one of four “new markets” Aritzia would enter during their fiscal 2027 (March 2026-March 2027) during a recent investor conference call.

No exact location was mentioned, although it will likely be either University Park Village or The Shops at Clearfork. That said, at roughly 10,000 square feet, the space Pottery Barn is leaving at UPV closely fits their square footage requirements.

Aritzia will open two new DFW locations during their fiscal 2027; in addition to newly-confirmed Fort Worth location, another location is already under construction at Galleria Dallas.

No specific tenant is named in the linked permit; this is just for the work to turn the space into a cold dark shell. Pottery Barn's UPV space is 10,354 square feet, and if the space remains this size and is not divided into multiple tenants, Aritzia still remains my first guess as to what the future tenant will be.

In fact, this space is highly consistent size-wise with what Aritzia would desire, considering that it is approximately the same size as their under-construction Galleria Dallas location. There's no guarantee it will be Aritzia obviously; there are other tenants that could occupy a similar footprint, and then there's the chance the space would be divided.

It's definitely way too small for Zara; their newest Texas stores are about 3x as large. I still doubt another home furnishings retailer will be looking at this space, since I suspect that type of a retailer is simply less of a fit for UPV at this point; almost everything that's opened within the last few years at UPV, aside from the Apple relocation, has been fashion-oriented.

(If this does end up being Aritzia, I think all of those TCU girls will rejoice... they LOVE Aritzia.)
