What are we thinking of Bordelle's Zenna?

What are we thinking of Bordelle's Zenna?

I personally love the elaboration of the maritime theme they've been exploring over the past year, from Siren and Melusina through Pearl and Zenna. Sometimes their mesh collections are rather safe in design, and there are some pieces in Zenna that are rehashes of past collections, but the netting bodywear pieces like the skirt and basque are fresh silhouettes that hit both the maritime theme and their bondage aesthetic in a way that is fantastic from a design standpoint. Perhaps not the most practical pieces, but I don't really buy Bordelle for its practicality.

I was a bit surprised they did teal and raspberry for the colorways, since Pearl was teal and dusty blue. The raspberry colorway for Siren and Melusina seemed to sell very well, so it makes sense in that regard. Raspberry isn't one of my favorite colorways. I do like their teal, but I wish they would bring back the true green of their eden colorway someday.

What are other folks thinking? Is Zenna a hit or a miss?

How are we feeling about Bordelle's Pearl release?

What are folks thinking about Bordelle's new Pearl release? The hardware is an elegant touch, the lace is on theme but abstract enough to not be kitsch, and the colorways are perfect for the theme as well. The dusty blue is my favorite with the pearl hardware, but they brought back the glow-in-the-dark thread on the white for a fun twist. The suspender, longline bra, and strap thong designs with the web strapping connected by the pearl hardware are such a beautiful combo of dreamy and sensual but with the sexy edge that Bordelle is great at.

The prices being 20% more than Siren was an unpleasant surprise. Siren was only about 5% more than Amela, so I was expecting a similar inflationary increase. That combined with the US tariffs pushes the price of a set over $2000 for me. I'm a huge Bordelle fan and buy a set from most collections, but it's a real wait for the sale set for me.

Edit: I'm now wondering if the USD prices might be tariff-inclusive, but they're mistakenly double charging tariffs at check out. The sample sale prices this year were tariff-inclusive for US customers, and maybe that messed up the Pearl release. The GBP and Euro prices for Pearl are not 20% higher than recent collections; they are around the same price. And Sugar Cookies in NYC has the Pearl collection in, and their prices are the same as the Bordelle site prices before the at-checkout potential double-tariff addition.

Edit edit: Prices are now lower in USD and comparable to prior releases.
