Is there a bargain grocery store in El Paso?
I've lived in places with stores that sell overstock, "expired", or out of season goods and it was a life saver. Is there one in El Paso?

Vent hood conundrum
Just bought a 1950's home with some interesting DIY things. One that i'm curious about is this vent fan. I'm likely making this more complicated in my head.
This old kenmore vent hood is
greasy as all heck
the sliding buttons arent functional with the panel on
42 inches long where as my stove is only 30 in.
What would be a simple solution aside from just leaving it alone for now? I know- buy a new hood. But! Its installed in the center... a smaller one will reasonably not take up all this space but will have to stay in the middle therefore looking weird. If you cant tell, the last owner also used the counter top laminate material as some sort of oven backsplash, so thats another space/wall consideration as it goes up to the hood. It's all a little funny.
Thoughts?
