Are smartwatches worth buying or do they end up being a notification machine for your wrist?

I keep going back and forth on getting one.

On paper, a smartwatch sounds useful. Quick notifications, fitness tracking, timers, music control, all that. But I also can’t tell if people actually use all those features long term or if it mostly turns into one more thing to charge that just vibrates on your arm all day.

If you have one, did it end up feeling worth it? Or is it mostly a notification machine for your wrist?

What product did you have high hopes for but it ended up being meh?

you know those things that look perfect on paper, good reviews, everyone hyping it… and then you get it and it’s just… not it

I’ve run into this a few times recently. For example, I picked up the Logitech MX Anywhere 3 thinking it would be a great portable mouse, but the shape just didn’t feel that comfortable during longer use and the scroll wheel felt a bit too sensitive for me.

Curious what didn’t live up to expectations for you and what the issue was.

What’s a relatively cheap product that turned out to be surprisingly good?

Not everything expensive is worth it, and sometimes cheaper stuff ends up being the better choice.

Looking for products that exceeded expectations and you still use regularly.

Are robot vacuums actually worth it or do they just roam around confused?

I’ve been thinking about buying a robot vacuum for months now, and I still can’t decide if it’s a genuinely useful gadget or just an expensive little guy driving around my apartment with confidence and no real plan.

On paper it sounds great. I don’t expect it to replace actual cleaning, but if it can keep the floor decent between cleanups, that already sounds like a win. Especially because I’m very good at saying “I’ll vacuum tomorrow” for like four days straight.

What I can’t tell is whether people who buy them end up loving them, or just tolerate them because they already spent the money.

So if you have one, was it actually worth it? Did it save time, or is it mostly a cute disc bumping into furniture?
