As I am preparing to start my college this year and I feel extremely anxious about that.

Since I am a shy, short person and kinda fat who does not look appealing I constantly find myself worrying about being friendly with other people at college believing that, based on my appearance or being so quiet they will not be able to make friends with me at all. Because it's kinda hard for me to socialize and i am also not a funny person which people wants to be around.

But , I hope to find friends in college however, starting conversations with people is something difficult within my personality.

It would be nice if I could hear the feedback from those who managed to overcome their shyness when they were at college.
