When can I eat without feeling like I’m dying?
Hi all, so apparently my situation is a bit odd. I had a sleeve done 9/17/25. However, I had reflux so badly it caused a hernia and I had to sleep sitting up for the last 3 months despite a ridiculously high amt of Rx acid reducers. So 7 months after my sleeve, I had to have a revision to the bypass. I had that on 4/29/26. It sucked because I had JUST gotten to where I could tolerate most all foods. lol. But I felt prepared since I knew the restrictions and basically just needed to start over.
At my 2 wk f/u my doctor had me do a barium swallow and just laughed because my pouch was so small. Said I would lose a ton of weight. That’s great and all, but I’m 3 wks po today, and can’t eat more than 3 very small bites, that’s after chewing each one a ton, waiting in between bites, and I still feel like I have a knife in my chest. Hurts so bad it makes my eyes water. I basically can’t get anything in besides water, sports drinks and protein shakes. I can do yogurt though I’m not a huge fan. And oddly enough I have only lost 2lbs in the last week. I’m assuming it’s because I am not getting enough in. How long does this hell last?
