Advice on looking good at home while living with in laws
Recently I’ve been wanting to spruce up my appearance a little bit while at home. My husband always has his beard trimmed and his hair well kept, and he always puts some effort into his general appearance both in and out of the house. I wanted to start taking care of my appearance more both for my husband and myself - especially recently, I feel like I’ve really been lacking, I gained a lot of weight, I don’t keep up with my skincare routine so my skin is looking very dull, I wear sweats and t shirts at home, and usually have my hair in a bun. My husband has never said anything but I thought it would be nice for him to come home to me looking nice every once in a while like I used to when we first got married. I used to wear shalwar kameez in the house when I first got married but dropped that in the last year or so as I grew more comfortable.
For context, I live with my husband and mother in law, and I just find it awkward “dressing up” around his mom (makeup, fancy clothes, etc) because I usually only ever dress up and wear makeup for dates with my husband or large functions.
I’m wondering if anyone has any ideas for looking a bit more put together in a subtle way while at home.
