I know it's a little crazy.
So we are at a highly rated table. Everyone is over 2700. a consistent top 10 player to my left. My partner is screaming no to a bower. With 8 points if they have any help at all they should just order. I think odds are good on a next call. I also protect all suits. I think a sim will say its wrong. On a human level i think its close.
Another spot from my live games.
Not this exact spot because I dont have a short suit.
9c ordered.
If i didn't have the diamond is it ever worth the signal to play the Q with the 10 in the wild? Partner would then know not to lead again.
A spot from my live games i was debating pretty hard. If the A of hearts is lead do I trump in or duck?
If trump in is the answer then what follow up?
A couple more live games.
Bad ordering mistake in one of the games. Euchre takes focus all the time. I am a bit torn on these live games. I think they help me focus in some ways. As you will see I think they can hurt my focus also. Maybe i just need more practice at it.
Ducking
I think i will just post these myself from now on.
I try to get into scenarios to duck and not.
Hope it helps someone!
Stubbed my Toe!
Opponents started the game up 4-0 with a loner. We fight our way all the way back. When i say we i actually want to say i drug my partner back. I don't care if its wrong i am ordering this up. Not gonna lose to 2 loners in 1 game.
The right time to signal?
This signal is critical. But did I wait too long? Should I have signaled 1 street sooner?
I always worry if its still possible my opponents get the lead i give them the info that was meant for my partner.
A game with multiple interesting calls. Trying to figure out if I trust my partner.
This is a mental battle at times. Trying to determine if we trust or dont trust our partner. If only I had @boombaddis I would have known where I stand.
I will quickly note some of my calls. I dont have time to analyze everyone right now.
At 0-2 I only block next so R+off A is enough. Not trusting partner on this one.
2-2 I try out the passive lead. With my off spades so low I didn't like their chances as a successful doubleton so I decide to take a more conservative approach. Might have been a bit cowardly here.
3-2 i dont have enough defense to pass and given my partners attitude my trust level in them is low. So i feel pretty good about our chances.
4-3 I am completely torn on if this is a correct pass. It felt like a toss up and my partner is 2700 rating so I have a little faith. I am rewarded with utter betrayal.
4-6 I get another one of these clunker hands. I dont wanna do this crap but I dont have a choice with what I defend against. Luckily I know my partner will help at this point.
6-7 If their was a euchre god or Karma this wouldnt have happened. This whole world is just chaos with no meaning.
3 redditors is back!
0-0 Must pick this up and must give my partner a chance to help me. I did and they did.
1-0 A real nice thin order by Lefty. I find myself wishing I could watch this game from his POV.
1-1 Another great call by Lefty.
1-2 My 1st chance to have to make some real choices. Do i lead trump and try to put the pressure on? If i had some aces to back me up I would consider that. As is i decide against it. Lefty has seat position to make this an easy make.
1-3 Easy pick up here. We get the question on reddit often about when to trump a partners ace. This is an interesting one and it sets me up for a euchre. The theory is that single small trump isn't going to be that useful why not just burn it and put your partner behind the dealer. The question is could I have sniffed this out and avoided the euchre. Yes I could have! If seat 1 had an ace they should have lead it. If Lefty had an ace he would have lead it. Its time to let my partner help. I ignored all this because i was to focused on leftys play. I was punished accordingly.
1-5 I am mostly along for the ride. We have seen some thin calls from Lefty so far. I wonder if Rino should have gone for a trump lead here. Lefty was not calling thin this time but it may have been an opportunity for it.
1-6 Time for a little revenge. Lefty already showed he will call next. I normally order this type of hand. I decide to go for the sandbag.
3-6 I did give consideration to next hear. But the clubs were strong enough to disregard next. This is the kind of thing that happens when crossing the river. I dont know of any other line to play it.
3-8 Good try by Rino why not at this score.
4-8 i think Rino has a next call at every score except when our opponents are at 8. I agree with the pass. Lefty should be calling red anything here and he did.
4-9 I make another mistake here. If my partner had the A of trump they would have showed it instead of the K. At this point I have the information needed to lead out trump. I missed it and it probably would not have mattered.
5-9 Time to shame Lefty. This is probably a dealer donate situation because your not blocking next. Thats just my opinion.
I have a lot going for me with this thin loner. My only off card is what was turned down giving it a boost to run. Lefty leading back the ace is his error and saved my but. He could have lead something else and forced me to trump in. Is this a mistake in this situation or is it a mistake given what information he has. I think its both. He simply needs to sit back and euchre me with Ax.
6-9 If i am western flyer I am ordering this hand all day and twice on sunday.
7-9 GG
Wes_aka_the_legend this one is for you. 38% call rate and your gonna agree to pass. I think......?
Here is how that last hand played out.
Just how you draw it up.
