wearing a Bhandani chaniya choli as a non-Indian guest at a wedding
I'll be a guest at a wedding where the bride is half indian and the groom is white. They are having an Indian wedding with multiple days of celebration and are encouraging all their guests to wear Indian clothing.
They wedding won't be super super formal as that isn't their style and going by the style of the invitation. So I was wondering if it would be okay to wear a more traditional Bhandani chaniya choli that seems like it would be more worn for festivals for dance (I love dancing and want to wear something more lightweight and spinny) It's also more my vibe as I don't usually wear heavily sequined clothes.
Would this be appropriate? I really love the colors and the print, it feels very me! I would definitely go heavier on the jewelry and I could even sew on more embellishment to add more sparkle, if that would be an okay thing to do.
