🚨 AI-GENERATED IMAGES OF MARILYN WILL RESULT IN A PERMANENT BAN!

Hello everyone, I’ve had enough.

From this point forward, knowingly posting AI-generated images of Marilyn Monroe will result in a permanent ban from this subreddit.

The amount of fake AI-generated images and videos of Marilyn that I’ve been seeing lately across Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr, Facebook, and other platforms is honestly sickening!! I do not want this subreddit contributing to the spread of them or allowing them to become confused with Marilyn’s authentic photographs.

Please do your research before posting! Check the source, verify the photograph, and if you are unsure whether an image is real, ask before submitting it.

This subreddit is dedicated to Marilyn’s real life, history, and photographic legacy. There are countless authentic photographs of her. We do not need AI fabrications being presented as part of that legacy.

I will be enforcing this rule strictly going forward.

Norma Jeane grew up a true Californian girl spending much of her time at the beach. Many of her first photographers took her to Santa Monica, Malibu, or Zuma beach to shoot.

This video made me very emotional. Marilyn Monroe’s life was both beautiful and heartbreaking. She continues to touch so many people decades later. What are your thoughts?

"She was an unusual woman - a little ahead of her times. And she didn't know it." - Ella Fitzgerald about Marilyn Monroe ❤️

In the 1950s, Ella Fitzgerald, one of the greatest jazz singers of all time, faced discrimination even at the height of her career and was not allowed to perform at Hollywood’s popular Mocambo because of her race. Marilyn Monroe, who loved her music and supported civil rights, called the club’s owner and promised she would take a front table every night if Ella was booked. The owner agreed, Marilyn kept her promise, and after that, Ella never had to play in a small jazz club again.
