Welcome basket for exchange student ideas
I will be the host family for an exchange student from São Paulo for the fall semester only. The only things I know so far is it’s a boy who is 16 (I know his name too, but obviously won’t post it here.) I don’t know if it’s the state of Sao Paulo or the city.
I am wanting to put together a welcome basket but I’m not sure what to include. Can anyone help me put together some items that a teenage male from Brazil coming to America may want. He will be here in six weeks or so.
So far, I have a collapsible laundry basket and I plan on putting everything into it. I have the following items but am looking for more ideas:
20 oz Dr Pepper
Warheads candy
Sour Skittles
Grippos bbq chips (a local thing)
Reese’s cups
Hot Cheetos
Slim Jim’s
Individual serving cups of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Apple Jacks, Fruit Loops, Lucky Charms, Cap’n Crunch
S’Mores Pop-Tarts
Cheeze-It’s
Small notepad
Pens
I know I want to get him a throw blanket (his room is in the basement so it stays chilly there) as well as a few of his own bath towels and a few of the the high school t-shirts.
Anything special that we have that Brazil doesn’t and a teenager would be excited to receive on their first day to the US?
