sorry plutonians, the planet was not that good of a first impression..
So, a few days ago, my laptop that I got like around 2022 (Windows 10, written ASUS on the back, I'm not quite sure of the exact model) decided it wanted to upgrade to Windows 11 because it provided security advantages, I agreed, but time and time again I had to get rid of a lot of stuff during that process and I even downloaded WizTree to help me debloat a bunch of stuff. It turns out I actually do not have enough storage for the update and I'm not really financially capable enough to upgrade the specs of this humble thing nor to get external storage so I wanted to undo it.
I can't undo the update or delete it for some reason, and the option to pause the update is grayed out and clicking it does nothing. The only button there says "Fix Issues" which all it really does is suggest where I can delete stuff and how much space I'll need in gigabytes. Obviously though, I don't really have any more space and everything else here is essential. Closing out of the window that tells me to delete stuff does not stop the process, unlike what google told me. I also looked online and already have tried just deleting everything under the folder "SoftwareDistribution", but my pc seems to just bring back everything I deleted after a restart. I want to know how I can permanently get rid of these files so my storage isn't so bloated and I can actually use this pc without issues.
Not quite sure if this is a stupid question or not, I'm not necessarily the tech wiz type. Please help.
