Things That Never Were: Spice Girls Edition 👀

Some of the “what could have been” moments we know about over the years:

Original 3rd album with Geri (1998/1999)
From what we know, the original third album may have included solo songs, covers, duets, and featured artists — almost like a “Spice Girls & Friends” concept.
I’ve always thought songs performed on the tour like Sisters, Where Did Our Love Go, and We Are Family were hinting at the direction they were heading in musically.

• Spice World 2
There were reportedly meetings in 1998 about filming a sequel to Spice World, but nothing ever came from it.

• Spice Girls animated movie (1999)
There were talks in 1999 about a Disney/animated Spice Girls movie that never happened. Would have been very on-brand for that era honestly.

• Spice World Live 1998
There were also talks of a live album from the 1998 tour, but it was ultimately shelved.

“Never Give Up On The Good Times” / “Viva Forever” double A-side
Originally this was meant to be a double A-side release. No one really seems to know why it changed, especially since Geri was still in the band during the beginning of the promotion.
I’ve always thought CD2 of Viva Forever basically became a substitute for what “Never Give Up On The Good Times” could have been. I also think the video for it would probably have been a tour montage pieced together from the Spiceworld Tour footage.

Any other lost Spice projects or “things that never were” that people remember?
