Need some advice

I graduated 10 years ago from a T20 school as a math major with a 3.3 gpa (yes math was hard but I also fucked around.)

I’ve worked in corporate the last decade and hate not impactful or client facing work.

I realized about 5 years ago my dream job is a psychologist (and fits very well with my personality) but the income for therapists is insanely low (I’m first gen want to take care of my family husband not rich). I keep reading about family lawyers having to act as therapists and I feel like I would really enjoy the critical thinking aspect.

  1. Would I have any chance at a decent NYC law school (Fordham/ cordozo) if I applied in a few years with a killer LSAT?
  2. Would quitting my job as a PM to work as a paralegal for a year be helpful (relevancy + rec)?
  3. Would getting an MSW (CUNY so it would be inexpensive but lost wages) first to boost my gpa get some relevant research experience and recs be helpful?

TYSMIA!

Advice on boy names please?

I'm Ashkenazi Jewish (Russian speaking) and I'd like to name my future son after a grandparent (first letter M J or D). My husband is not Jewish and his last name is very English so I wanted the first name to have a small Jewish flair. I'd like something not too unique but not too common either (I.e. no David or Daniel).

Some thoughts:

  • Micah (but I love it for a girl instead)
  • Jonah (love it but husband vetoed it)
  • Jesse (like it but husband vetoed it)
  • Jordan (okay on it)
  • Julian (love it but not really a Russian/Jewish flair)
  • Jacob (like this name but feels very common)
  • Josh (like this name but feels very common)

any ideas on these names or any other suggestions? THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

Surgical resident diagnosed with TM

Hey everyone - I wanted to apologize for all the pain you may feel and am praying for everyone 💜

12 years ago my dear kind 29 year old cousin who was a marathon runner dancer and 4th year surgical resident got diagnosed with TM and was in a coma for weeks. She woke up 3 weeks later paralyzed nipples down. After a year she regained feeling in her upper body but none in her lower body.

She does intense physical therapy twice a week and tried everything - FES, water stimulation, standing frame, decade of PT, but it seems nothing has improved. She has the most caring self sacrificial parents that have built her an accessible house, care for her full time, etc. But still maybe there’s something I could help find?

Over the last 6-7 years as she regained some feeling, she’s had the most horrific neuropathy. She describes it as “burning stabbing squeezing like her legs are literally being skinned alive.” It’s been bad all these years but over the last year (she’s now 42)
and she’s starting having week long pain crises that have only been disrupted via ER IVs of fentanyl and pain relief.

She has a pain regiment. Implanted spinal cord stimulator, balcofen, Lyrica, Xanax, ketamine infusion. Does anyone know of clinical trials that could be helpful for either pain or regaining function? Especially pain. It’s unbearable.

? Where can I search this stuff?
