Tracfone Nokia G300 nearly unusably slow
When Tracfone upgraded their network and had to give their customers new phones, I got a Nokia G300. At first, the phone was okay, but all this year it has been very slow, and I don't know why. I don't use it that much, don't have many apps installed on it. I have missed calls because it sometimes takes more than 15 seconds to respond to the tap on the handset icon to answer the call. Often pops up the "isn't responding, wait or close?" dialog. Also, it will no longer take stills. A tap of the button no matter how quickly and lightly done is always interpreted as a long press, and it takes video or burst.
I can keep the phone usable by clearing the cache of the System UI app. Do that every time I want to use it. Of course, it is very slow until I can reach the dialog to clear the cache. The camera app still won't take stills, but after deleting System UI's cache, everything else is reasonably responsive, for a while.
Anyone have any suggestions? Know of a better way to improve its responsiveness? Rather not spend for a better phone but this Nokia G300 is so bad now I see little alternative.
