Going to Bend, OR in a week. I know they've got a standing wave and it's pretty popular...

Been surfing for 20 years but never surfed a river wave. Is it worth it to lug a board there (driving not flying)? Or should I just hit the skatepark and breweries?

Also, maybe dumb question, but what happens to your board when you eat shit on a river wave? Seems like great way to fuck up your board on rocks.
