Boykin Spaniel - early retrieve training

This beautiful Boykin (June) is my first dog and I have the goal of training her to be a duck hunting dog as where we hunt is doesn’t ever get too cold. That and combined with her size (I used to be very scared of big dogs) made us settle on a Boykin. This is a rep from our very early retrieve training. I am eventually going to try the Smart Works program but she just turned 12 weeks so we’ve just been working on fetching and getting her to come back. 4-5 tosses at a time. This is a rep from earlier. What would yall say to change for her currently?

Cross posting in Boykin sub because this is actually Shady’s sibling from a couple post ago! This is Shady’s sister and weighed 12.19 pounds her last vet visit.

Hey y’all, posted my girl June (Boykin Spaniel) the other day and had what may seem like a dumb question. We have purchased a medium Ruffland Kennel, I know this is obviously way too big for her at 9-10 weeks. Anyone transport their pups in the kennel like this? I obviously don’t feel comfortable letting her having run of the car or sitting in laps due to possibility of wrecks. Just curious on anything that has worked for y’all.

Everybody give June some pets, we brought her home this past Sunday and the big thing this week has been trying to get rid of the biting and jumping up on things. This is my first dog and my wife’s second. First Boykin for us both. She will be a house dog and a hunting dog for ducks and dove. She has been awesome, my biggest concern is that I won’t be as good as trainer as she deserves! Any tips for the biting and jumping welcome.
