Got to try out a silverface Deluxe Reverb RI and the breakup sounded insane (complimentary). I felt a lot of great low end in there.

I will of course try a blackface RI when I get a chance, but that might be a while. From what I read it has a much lower noise floor, takes longer to break up.

In the meantime I can’t really tell from youtube clips — when you do get the blackface to break up, are the driven tones different? How would you characterize them, and also the Bassman tone stack in the custom channel on the silverface?

(i.e. is silverface more like the band Minutemen and blackface is more like… bluesy? Beautiful but not as ballsy?)
