New Return Policies
All of the recent return protocols have made it almost impossible to shop on this site. I just had the weirdest interaction with their AI Chat Bot and then a follow-up with a live agent. I received and item that was listed as being in "good condition" with a minor stain. It was a hoodie that arrived with the drawstring missing, and multiple stains throughout. After submitting a return request, I went over to the chat bot to ask about getting the $10.99 return shipping fee waived. The chat bot told me to send the return number to a live agent and the shipping fee would be waived because of the inaccurate listing description.
I do what the chat bot requested, then a live agent pops on the chat. I had already sent the original order number, item number, and return number to the agent at the start of the chat. They ask me for the same things immediately as well as photos. The photo upload option was not working in the chat. So now I'm in a never-ending email loop with customer service trying to prove that my return is worthy of the shipping fee being waived.
This seems absurd. Thredup is notorious for their shoddy listing descriptions and photos. Every single time I shop on this website I get closer and closer to never shopping again. I'm asking for a ten dollar fee to be waived on an item that was donated to them and they probably didn't even pay out the original owner for.
Anyway, rant over. If Thredup wants to make their website infuriating they have succeeded.
