Holiday let cleaning times?

I've picked up a job cleaning holiday lets, which I used to do years ago. I know I'm not the fastest but I am very thorough and working on speed again, however the times for these cleans seem SO unrealistic, and I end up doing extra work where other people have very clearly cut corners.

I'd love some professionals views on if these times are actually achievable for the standard f clean their training outlines.

- skirting boards all wet dusted

- clean linen collected and often sorted ourselves at beginning of day

- all linen changed and into bags (then dropped off for laundry end of day)

- shower and sink traps pulled out and scrubbed

- all drawers and cupboards wiped down outside and inside

- usual dusting/surface cleaning/coach check and cleans

- towels rolled and put out

- windowsills cleaned and I believe windows as necessary

- bins changed and cleaned inside and out, often rubbish is left and has to be taken to outside bins

- fridge shelves and drawers pulled out and cleaned

- wipe down light switches etc, door handles

- oven and dishwasher wiped down and cleaned but usually nothing gross

- all kitchen cupboards and drawers wiped down inside and out

- hoover, mop, any other usual cleaning bits that are part and parcel.

Then you have to lug all your cleaning stuff, mop, hoover, linen, between properties/vehicle. Some properties are on a large site so next door to each other, some are a drive away in a very busy town.

The only one I can see being feasible is the glamping pods at an hour each.

Recently 3 bedroom large apartments ( one king and 2 twin bedrooms ea) with large living rooms and 2 bathrooms plus stairs, 2 hours each allocated including set up and decamp to next one.

Tomorrow there are 2 of us set to do 2 x 5 bedroom houses in 2.2 hours each house, plus another smaller one

Another day next week I've been given a 5 bedroom house to do on my own in 4.3 hours.

I actually love cleaning, but hate feeling like I am to rush and cut corners, I've been so exhausted after some of these shifts that I've been unable to do the stuff for myself that life is about, like go to the gym, go climbing, do stuff around my own house!

So be brutally honest with me because I want the reality - do I need to suck it up and be way faster? Or are these times as tough as they seem to me?

Thanks 😁

Please help me with fun, cheap, in-person ways to get clients 😊

Hi,

I've been a Personal Trainer for 9 years, I'm great at what I do and absolutely love coaching people. In this time, I've moved from West Yorkshire, to Norfolk, and now to the Lakes. Norfolk and the Lakes are less populated with a lot of holiday homes, but I think that's more of an excuse than anything.

While I love coaching, I'm not bothered about social media, I try and keep my screen time to a minimum, and I don't really understand how to get social media posts seen locally. So while everyone says to do social media, in my view, it has historically taken hours for me to come up with and make a post, that isn't that good compared to others, that then goes into a void never to be seen.

I AM starting to try and make more effort, but I need to look after my brain as well, so I'm looking for ways to get clients in-person, without having to rely on social media.

So far I have put leaflets in some cafes, salons, and through letterboxes in some nearby villages (I need to get my arse in gear and do more of this, but I've been a bit disheartened, and also diesel has been 1.99 a litre!).

I've been putting regular ads on local FB groups and next-door

I got in touch with local WIs offering to do a talk....only one got back to me, and said they'll put it to the committee...for the 2027 events!

I was going to join the local beginners run club, but it's held from a local gym, so I assume the PTs there are already doing what I would be doing.

I was going to sit in cafes, join salsa class, bridge, and do other local things, but my budget hasn't stretched to that yet as I've had a hard time even getting massage clients since I moved up here.

Any other ideas for free ways to attract clients?

Just to add, I'm at a semi-private studio. Not a gym!

Thanks so much 😊

Partner (m43) is ill, gone quiet/distant, this is bringing up old anxious attachment wounds in me (f32), advice please?

Hi,

I've just been away for a few days helping my mum clear out a relatives house who passed away recently. My partner had been coming down with something when I left, and when I got back he said he's been ill exhausted, thinks it's bad allergies or flu or something. It was a bit stressful going away, and it's that time of the month, which is likely affecting my emotions.

Since I got back hes been SUPER distant. Like, on his phone in another room, barely speaking to me. We sleep in separate beds but always have a cuddle in the evening and morning, and he's made it clear he hasn't wanted that in the evening, then in the morning has got straight up and gone to get coffee and breakfast. Today he went into his study for work 15 mins early and didn't say a word to me as he left the kitchen (usually we have a quick hug and a kiss).

I've worked really hard on my anxious attachment stuff, but this situation has thrown me in it. I cried myself to sleep last night (ok DEFINITELY hormones, I'm not that pathetic usually), and I've been scared to say something because my brain is trying to push worst-case scenarios on me.

So, lovely people of reddit, please help! Is this normal for a guy who is super ill? Do I just hang in there and self-soothe until he's better and trust that he'll come back to putting effort in? (One of my big anxious attachment issues was thinking if I let a lapse in effort/affection continue, it would stay like that forever, which I know isn't true but I clearly still need to work on)

If I should say something, how can I state my needs kindly?

Thanks 💞
