A series you've developed a newfound appreciation for on a rewatch?

I'll start. Series 6. I've always said it's my least favourite, only ever rewatched it once and that was at least 3 years ago. Reluctantly decided to give it another try last week and oh my god, I have really enjoyed it!

Alice Levine is an underrated gem. Asim Chaudhry is freaking adorable. Liza Tarbuck is a very worthy winner and one I definitely didn't appreciate at the time. Russell Howard is funnier than I remember. And Tim Vine. Oh, Tim Vine, I love you. You might have to be my new flair.

Don't get me wrong, 6 isn't perfect. There are some real dreary and forgettable tasks. But if you don't love some manly Vine Time in a box on the side of the road, something's wrong with you. (Yes, I'm talking to you, younger version of myself.)

What are your newly-appreciated rewatches and why?

Most underrated / underappreciated contestant? Read text for clarity.

I wanna see some love for some TM contestants who might not always get the hype they deserve!

By underrated / underappreciated, it doesn't necessarily mean your favourite contestant ever. It's more someone who you think was brilliant yet doesn't get the love they deserve, in your view. E.g. Bob Mortimer would not be classed as underrated or underappreciated, because he is such a universally adored contestant.

It can be someone who was outshone by the winner in their series. Or someone fairly middling at the show who is still a gem but took a bit of a backseat to others in their series. Or it could be a winner who you think is someone easily forgotten about etc.

I'll start! Mine is Sara Pascoe. I'm rewatching S3 right now and she genuinely matches the criteria or fulfils the brief set out so often (like the ice cream snowman, propelling the pea etc.) yet she's completely buried by the men for numerous reasons. I like Sara a lot and think she was quite a competent contestant. Just not as memorable as the others in her series.

Which season (series, Jason) have you been dead certain of the winner from the very beginning? And which took you by surprise?

Dead certain - S17, John Robins. It was immediately obvious that he was a Taskmaster superfan and knew the game inside out. Made it for a little boring win tbh but can't deny how good he was and the clear frontrunner from episode 1.

Took by surprise - S13, Sophie Duker. It wasn't until episode 8 or 9 IIRC that I realised she was so strong and in the lead. I was certain that series would be Chris Ramsey's for the taking!
