If employers already have a candidate’s resume with their entire work history, education and skills, why do so many job applications still make candidates manually type all of that information into separate boxes?
I understand wanting the information in a standardized format,
but if the resume already contains everything, why make the applicant enter it all again?
Maybe there’s a good reason for that which I missed,
but it seems like exactly the kind of thing software should be able to handle by now.
