Bodice Ripper inspired book covers- Any feedback is appreciated! :D
Hey! I'm working on upping my skills and portfolio. This project included the cover design, typesetting, and page layout of a Historical Romance book series. The main inspiration was the "Bodice rippers" mass market paperback books from the '70s and '80s.
I wanted to learn more photo manipulation. Since my illustration skills are not the best, I tried to recreate a drawing/paint effect. I used smart filters and played around with hue/saturation and curves, but if you have any suggestions to get this effect, please let me know! :D
For the interior, I used InDesign. I included some samples, but there's nothing groundbreaking about those, just so you have a sample since I mentioned I did the page layout and typesetting.
I also did the mockups from scratch, so I'm really proud of those :)
