FXT to Temp
if I am offered a temporary full time position do I have to resign my fixed term position?

Happy to announce I deleted Anki may I never see her again (until I’m an MS1 hopefully next year).
Hope y’all sleep well!
I did absolutely 0 studying today. And just an hour yesterday. I feel at peace.
Finally reached my CARS goal (131 on FL5/6) and the only difference was that I stopped doing CARS practice.
All I did was read the AAMC Content Outline on CARS and bam 128>131. I took FL5 and it felt easy.
McMaster hates to see me coming.
Just took FL6 and my P/S was a 2 point drop. Are the questions more representative to current MCAT? I took FL6 because I wanted a harder C/P but I found it to not be that difficult.
For context:
BP: 124/131/125/128
UW1: 123/124/125/127
UW2: 126/129/126/126
FL1: 125/128/126/127
FL2: 127/128/129/127
FL3: 127/128/129/128
FL6: 129/130/126/126
It didn’t feel good at all, but I felt like I had a lot more time than my last 3 AAMC ones. I finished UW Psych so I thought I’d see an improvement.
Not sure what went wrong with B/B (haven’t reviewed).
I’ve done FL1 - 3.
Should I do FL 4, 5, or 6 tomorrow. I test August 8th. I will write all FLs before then.
Or recently gotten in. I’m applying MD/PhD to most schools in Ontario (Western, Mac, Queens, UofT) and UBC.
Did you apply blind? Or reach out to supervisors before hand?
What was your CV? I don’t have a MSc (I did turn down an NSERC CGS-M to be close to home)? I have a dozen pubs, some high impact. 1000s of research hours across undergrad + post grad. My GPA is somewhat competitive (unsure of how OMSAS will calculate since I’m applying for disability considerations). MCAT in two weeks (most recent FL was 508 (128 CARS).
How was the interview process like vs regular MD MMI?
I keep seeing posts of people saying it takes them hours to get through a nominal number of new Anki cards.
I’m using Anking + UWorld exclusively.
My daily workflow is:
- do all Anki reviews (~1 hour for about 1000 cards)
- content review (UWorld videos + flash cards) > unsuspend corresponding Anki cards (each chapter is maybe 50-100 cards takes maybe 10-15 minutes)
<<repeat>>
- UW Qs, FLs, Q Bank etc (create a new card for each concept I missed or I was not confident in)
- complete all Anki cards
<repeat>
All in all I go through about 1200 - 2500 cards each day. I try to finish all of them before I sleep. Max I’m doing 3 hours of Anki per day (3000+ cards). If a card becomes a leech — I go back to the concept review it (watch the video) and move on.
Am I missing something?
Aside from the amino acids + equations.
What things should I practice just memorizing? Not like overall topics — like stuff I should write down during the “prep” time before the test.
Krebs? citric acid?
Options: Jul 11 / Jul 24
Current studying: I'm exclusively using UWorld (books + videos + practice Qs) plus AAMC tests and two UWorld tests. I do Anki a lot (over 1000 cards per day) to help with retention.
Currently, I'm done OChem content review. I still have a lot of Bio (80%) and GenChem (73%). The others I'm halfway done Biohem (45%), Physics (45%), BehavSciences (40%). This number includes content review + UWorld Qs.
I've been studying since Jan. But semi consistently. I have a job where some weeks I'm working 40 hours but most weeks it's 60-80 weeks. I worked more 100 hour weeks than 40 hour weeks. But, I took a leave of absence to lock in for the MCAT which started last week.
I am fine to study 7 days a week, as long as I can spend ~2 hours exercising each day + 1 long run (2-3 hours) + 1 long ride (6 hours). So basically I budget 12 hour days M-F. 10 hour Sat. 8 hour Sunday.
Each day aside from content review, I do 60 - 120 minutes of Anki, 1 CARS passage, (and since I'm done OCHEM I'll do one OCHEM).
I have not done any FLs, and don't know if I should start doing them now, or wait until I have gotten through more of GenChem/Bio.
Is Jul 11 achievable?
