Calling all MKEs and internet sleuths: who is putting up the weird signs around Rhode Island?!

If you haven’t heard about the billboard saga going on in Rhode Island, you are seriously missing out.
The TL;DR is: since RHRI aired, someone has created a giant billboard and a few other signs referencing the show. At first we were like, “this billboard makes no sense,” but then we realized someone literally copied verbatim a random Reddit comment about the show and put it on a billboard!
So far on the RHRI Reddit we’ve just been joking that someone has too much money and time on their hands and have kind of shrugged it off.
But, I’ve also been following the saga of Brian’s mistress, who is clearly unhinged and doing anything for her 15mins. She has taken photos of herself at filming locations, almost all of her posts reference the show, etc. Let’s just say, (Nene Voice) it’s getting weird!
And it got me thinking…what if the billboard person is a cast member or someone adjacent to a cast member? RI is a lot like SLC in the way that most of these people had zero fame or platform before the show (besides Ashley). They, and their loved ones/rivals/lovers have all been plucked from utter obscurity and basically overnight became one of the most popular housewife shows.
What if the mistress is making the billboards? Or another fame thirsty friend of the cast? Or, one of the cast members themselves? I don’t know, I just have a spidey sense that if we follow the billboard trail, it could lead somewhere juicy!
So, calling all my Megan King Edmonds, can anyone crack the case???
