2022 Ruckus cranks but won’t start after sitting 2.5 years
Need help with my 2022 Ruckus not starting after sitting for ~2.5 years. It ran perfectly before I stored it in my dad’s basement (~2,000 miles), but a few days ago I tried to crank, and it gave a very weak effort.
So far I’ve replaced the battery with a new one and charged it overnight, added fresh premium gas on top of the old gas (93 grade), added a touch of injector cleaner, and replaced the spark plug. Electronics all work fine and it definitely sounds stronger than before with a good crank “hum” when holding the start button, but still no start. Earlier today I could smell gas after cranking it, but not really anymore. I haven’t drained the old gas yet since I don’t really have a good way to do it at the moment.
Before I take it to a shop, is there any diagnosis that this group can help me come to a conclusion on? Maybe stale fuel/injector issues, fuel pump pressure, flooding, or something else common on Ruckuses that sit this long? Any DIY fix-up tricks/tips would be helpful. I am by no means a mechanic.
*I have the front cover of the bike and all the bolts- this is just the most recent picture I took of it while working on it.
UPDATE: Thank you all! The recommendations of removing + cleaning my carb & jets was the right move. It was able to start. My slow jet was clogged and had to end up using a fishing line to floss it out to be clear again.
