Worth extra $400 for less RAM? M5 14" 32GB vs M5 Pro 16" 24GB

Hello everyone, I bought a Macbook Pro M5 14" 32GB of RAM. Initially I thought it was okay and good for me, I mainly do some coding and just got the 32GB in case I need it when I'm away from home. I bring it to school, but I also have a pretty beefy PC at home. The problem is I feel pretty cramped with having a bunch of stuff opened on the 14". I was thinking of switching to the 16" 24GB but im not sure if that's going to be enough as I'm going to be doing some app development later down the line in my degree and plan to use VMware for that. The 16" is an extra $400 with less ram on it with the student discount and I'm not sure if it's the right choice? Is the 24GB enough for running probably just 1 VM, vscode, and tabs open and maybe an emulator? Appreciate it if anyone could help.

TLDR; 14" feels to cramped but 32GB is awesome. Should I spend an extra $400 for the 16" with less RAM (24GB) for software dev and coding?
