Multiplus fan responding to house load not inverter load
Had a Multiplus ii GX for around 6 months, not doing anything exciting just as inverter/charger to a 16kWh Fogstar battery for home ESS.
the fan noise was unbelievable, but I thought maybe it gets hot so that’s how it is.
to mitigate this, I saw a common modification was to add 2x 120mm fans on 3-D printed ducts underneath which just run at full pelt.
once I did this, I obviously paid a lot more attention to the fan and it made no difference at all
I realised the internal fan is purely running based on the load into the house not load on the inverter.
for example at night when all the inverter is doing is charging the ESS battery at 2 kW, when a Car charger kicks in running directly from the grid the multi plus fan goes to full speed.
Its a new unit and on firmware v508.
has anyone else come across his behaviour? has anyone found a solution?
it’s driving me mad, turn on the kettle and all I can hear is the multi plus fan.
